Good morning! Don't forget to email your sketchbook tours to me today. I am anxious to see all of your realistic facial features!
If you checked in with me this week, thank you! If you have friends in class that you can get in touch with please ask them to shoot me an email or quick message on remind-even if they don't have work to send. We are trying to compile a list of students that we have not heard from to give to Mr. Gillihan. We are just trying to verify that everyone is safe, in contact and has what they need. Check back on Monday to see some of the sketch work from this past week. We will have one more week of drawing assignment and then it will be Spring Break. After the break I will update you about our format moving froward. Have a great day! Hi everyone! Please shoot me an email or message on Remind TODAY if I have not heard from you at all (via email, text, remind, etc) I am not looking for your assignments today, I am checking to see if you are ok. Mr. Gillihan has requested to know about any students that we have not had contact with. So even if you just message me a "hello" I would appreciate it! I hope you all are having a wonderful week!
[email protected] Here are a few of our sketches and draw alongs from last week. I can't wait to see what you do this week! Thanks to all of you who have already emailed your sketchbook tour videos. I am putting a few together and will be posting to the blog later today so be sure to check them out! This week's drawing choices focuses on realistic drawing. Select 3 of the facial feature draw alongs and 3 drawings on your own from the list. Please take your time. If you really focus and try your best you will be amazed at this set of drawings. I am looking forward to seeing what you create this week!
Good morning! I hope you all have had a nice week and were able to create some wonderful drawings in your sketchbook. Remember to send me a short video tour of your work. Feel free to flip through additional pages in your book, it should only take you a few seconds. I will compile the videos and post them to the blog. The grades for these weekly projects will go in to Synergy as soon as school resumes but I will be grading them as we go so please don't fall behind. Have a restful safe weekend. I can't wait to hear from each of you!
Hello everyone! If you missed school on Friday we discussed how our time at home will be handled for VA Comp. We will not be working on large projects for now. We will instead be working exclusively in our sketchbooks. I will put together a list of 10 prompts each week. Some will be topics or skill practice and some will be video draw alongs on youtube. You will pick 6 out of the 10 to work on throughout the week. I would plan to do one per day so you don't fall behind. Each week on Friday you will video a sketchbook tour (a few seconds of you flipping through your sketchbook) and email it to me. I will post some our our tours each week. Please read the assignment specifics and email me or contact me through remind if you need help or have any questions. I am looking forward to seeing what each of you create in your book! I am using this time away to fill my latest sketchbook as well. See project specifics and the the prompts for this week here:
This week we are studying the element of space. Check out the video below about the rule of thirds. This is what your sketch assignment for this week is based on. You can read the specifics of the assignment by clicking on it from the black buttons to the right. We will also be starting an abstract painting using the rule of thirds as our guide. We will discuss the details in class and you can view the grading rubric here:
