I hope you all had a great weekend! I enjoyed seeing some of your pet projects!! If you have not turned in your project please email it to me today. This week we have a very fun challenge that was put out across America from the Getty Museum. They challenged everyone to select a piece of artwork and recreate it with objects and people around your house. The results have been amazing! For our project this week we are going to take part in the challenge. Do a little research and find a famous work of art that you will recreate. It will NOT be done with traditional art materials, in other words you aren't repainting, re-sculpting or re-drawing it. The materials you select will not be permanently attached, this is a temporary art installation. There is a video below that has a ton of examples that the Getty has received and below that some photo examples. Keep in mind that your "art" might include real people, household objects, barbies or action figures or even laundry. Get creative. Once you have recreated your artwork take a picture of the finished piece and send it to me along with an image of the art that inspired you. You must also send a photo/selfie of you with the objects you used so I know it is your original work. You can also send it to the Getty on Instagram or twitter and join the nationwide challenge online. I can't wait to see your creations! Email them to me by Friday.

Good morning! Thanks for the great mask designs! I will be updating synergy later today. For this week we will be designing something to help encourage someone to adopt a specific pet that you select. Check out the project guidelines and examples here:
I think you are going to like this project and your work will be sent to the shelter to directly impact the animal you pick. You can use any medium so be creative with your selections. You can email your completed power point page to me by Friday. I can't wait to see this work and pass it along to make a real difference!
Thanks to everyone who turned in their PSA assignment! Here are a few examples: I will continue to post projects weekly. Everyone is encouraged to complete them. For those of you who are continuing to try to bring up your grade please make sure you are completing the work and turning it in on time. Work ethic matters in all that you do. Do not waste your time turning in work that is not your best as that will not improve your grade and cannot be entered into synergy.
For this week I want you to design a line of fashionable face masks. Everyone is encouraged to wear a face mask when they go out during the pandemic. Your job is to create a line of masks that people will actually want to wear. You must consider that you cannot use images or logos that have already been designed. So no Gucci masks or prints with copyrighted characters. You can design your masks by hand or digitally but if you are doing digital work make sure it is your own-in other words, no copy and paste. I want you to create 3 masks along with a print ad about why people should use your specific masks. If you have any questions please let me know. All project specifics can be found to the right of this post or at the bottom of this site if you are using your phone. Good morning! Please turn in your PSA assignment today! Synergy is back open so I will be entering grades today. Thanks to each of you who have kept up with the work and who have done your best. Work ethic matters!
For those of you who are hoping to improve your grade, I will still continue to post and accept assignments. I encourage all of you to do them even if you do not need the grade but everyone is in a different situation so I understand that you will do what is best for you. But keep in mind that work ethic matters in all that we do and I hope that you will finish strong. If you have any questions please let me know. Look for updates in Synergy later today. I hope all of you have a restful Spring Break unplugged next week. Let me hear from you and I can't wait to see your PSAs! I am so sad to know that school is out for the rest of the year. We did not get to start or finish so many things I had hoped for you to do. For the seniors, my heart is breaking for you but know that good things are coming and you will be celebrated! There are a lot of questions right now about so many events and grades and we do not have the answers yet. Your job in the meantime is to keep working, keep smiling and to stay safe. Next week is Spring Break and after that I will let you know the format of the rest of the class. Keep turning in your work, in this class and all the others. For today, smile, breathe and find some happiness. |
