Don't forget to scroll down and watch our project video for this week, it is in the post below this one. Enjoy today's pottery video and don't forget to write about it in your log. Don't fall behind in completing your work-even though they aren't going in synergy right now-they will when school resumes.

I made your project video and guess what? My head is cut off the entire time:-( but it still has all of the information you need so I am posting it anyway. I will put a photo as well so you can see my fun Mickey Mouse ears that I am wearing for Spirit Day today, if you dressed up send me a photo so I can post it! Tuesday is super hero day so let me know if you dress up! This week, as you will hear in the video, I am asking you to construct a tall tower out of objects at home. Sculpture and ceramics are all about weight, balance and placement so this will be a fun experiment to help with those concepts. Once you build your tower as tall as you can send me a photo (or set up a time lapse while you build it). We will have a winner of the tallest tower created! The other 2 things I want you do to this week are just to bring some fun and for all of us to see each other. Details for each are in the video. 1. I want you to text the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art 572-51 and ask them to send you something ("send me happiness" or "send me fun" or "send me sunshine" and see what piece of art work they text you based on what you ask for. You have to start with the words "send me" and you can then type a word or an emoji. Have fun and let me know what you get! 2. I want you to download the free google art and culture app. It is so fun for so many reasons but I want you to do the art selfie exercise. From the home page, scroll down until you get to the art selfie square, take a selfie and it will match you with a person in a famous painting. Once you get your match, share it with me and I will post all of them. Don't be the one person in class that doesn't play-it will be fun to see who they match us with! My matches today were all crazy so I am going to try again tomorrow;-) Have a great time making fun of my video skills and be in touch! Don't forget that this is not your Tuesday video for your weekly log so watch that too! I am loving the soap sculptures that are in my email inbox! I will post them throughout the week! If you have not emailed me your soap creation yet, don't forget to do that today. I will post our project for this week on the blog tomorrow. Our video today is about a potter in Denmark. Is work is very precise and beautiful. He seems a little overly obsessed with his appearance but I think you will enjoy his work nonetheless;-) Enjoy and don't forget to fill out your logs. I am impressed with all of the information you all are including on them! Well we made it to Friday! Today's video is about a technique called Sgraffito where you paint a leather hard piece with underglaze and carve a decorative design. When you finish watching, fill out your log and email it to me. With the announcement of school being closed until the end of April I will be figuring out how to make the most of the days we will have left working with clay at school. I will update you on Monday with what my plan is so you can start designing before we get back so we can hit the ground running and get at least one more significant piece of pottery created! Have a good day-miss you! Hi everyone! Please shoot me an email or message on Remind TODAY if I have not heard from you at all (via email, text, remind, etc) I am not looking for your assignments today, I am checking to see if you are ok. Mr. Gillihan has requested to know about any students that we have not had contact with. So even if you just message me a "hello" I would appreciate it! I hope you all are having a wonderful week!
[email protected] Today's video is all about precision and technique. I love the trimming technique of the first potter!! Enjoy the video and your day. Don't forget to keep up with your log this week and email me tomorrow. You can send your soap sculpture if you finish it this week, if not send it Monday. Shout out to Raul who made this fabulous turtle out of soap yesterday. Amazing! I can't wait to see what you create this week! Our video today is one more with Jon the Potter. In this one, he is doing a Raku firing and you will see that his glaze does not turn out as planned. He explains why this might have happened. It is a cool process to watch and I am still hopeful that we can use our Raku kiln outside before summer. I hope you all have a fabulous day and don't forget to keep up with your log! Why do I love Jon the potter so much?? Here is the follow up video for the large pot we saw him build last week. Let me know what you think about how he finished it! Remember this is the Tuesday video for the log and I posted another video about our weekly project earlier today so check it out too. Happy Tuesday! We are going to try some soap carving this week. Hear the details in my video. I hope that you will give it a try. Email me your creations by next Monday and I will post them to the blog. I hope you had a chance to see some of the origami your classmates made last week. I will link some other soap carving videos below that you can check out. Have a safe and wonderful week.
